SILENCE AND PRAYER A 5-Day Centering Prayer Intensive with August 11-15, 2010 REGISTRATION CLOSED. To go on the waiting list, call (650) 340-7454. Come taste the silence of prayer with other contemplative companions, and rest in the stillness. An established practice of Centering Prayer for six months or longer is suggested but not required. We will enjoy periods of Centering Prayer, Lectio Divina, Taizé Chant, and time for contemplative Eucharist. Fr. Tommy Brennan is a diocesan priest from Wexford, Ireland. He has been practicing centering prayer since 1992, has resided in the U.S. for the last several years where he been a retreatant with Father Thomas Keating and has led several retreats throughout the U.S. and studied at the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley. He is known and highly regarded for directing the last eight 10-day post-intensive retreats at the Bishop DeFalco Retreat Center in Amarillo, Texas. Eileen Halliburton has been practicing centering prayer since 1993. She is past coordinator of Contemplative Outreach, Oakland-East Bay Chapter and has given introductory workshops on centering prayer throughout Northern California. She has also led retreats at San Damiano Retreat Center in Danville and 4-day retreats here at Mercy.
