This retreat will provide the opportunity to enter deeply into a meditation experience of silence, self-discovery and community. Beginners and experienced meditators welcome.

  • Private interviews with the retreat teacher, Fr. Gregory Mayers
  • Sitting meditation and walking meditation
  • Daily talks by Fr. Greg

Fr. Gregory Mayers, CSSR,a Redemptorist priest, is a Zen Teacher (Zen-kyôshi) of the Sanbô-Kyôdan Religious Foundation in Kamakura, Japan. He was given the teaching name of Ryûun-ken (Flowing Cloud) by Yamada Ryôun Roshi, the 4th Abbot of Sanbô-Kyôdan. He is also a Zen Teacher of the Empty Cloud Zen Lineage in Benediktushof Holzkirken, Germany, and the School of Contemplation, both founded by Willigis Jäger, OSB, Kôun-ken, who is Father Greg’s primary teacher. Father Greg is the award-winning author of Listen to the Desert: The Secrets of Spiritual Maturity in the Desert Fathers and Mothers. He directs the East West Meditation Program at Mercy Center and is its resident teacher.
