Centering Prayer Intensive Retreat
with Joy Andrews Hayter and Fr. Bill Sheehan
August 7-11, 2016
$485 Overnight / No commuter rate
Come taste the silence of prayer with other contemplative companions—and rest in the stillness. An established practice of Centering Prayer for six months or longer is suggested but not required.
We will enjoy several hours daily of Centering Prayer, optional half-hour meetings with staff, and time for contemplative Eucharist.
There will also be time for rest and reflection, for enjoying Mercy Center’s beautiful oak-studded acres, and the possibility of receiving healing body work.
Joy Andrews Hayter, Ph.D. is a spiritual director dedicated to fostering Centering Prayer and other contemplative practices that help us become aware of God's ever-present love. As a Professor Emerita of chemistry, she sees in the physical world an expression of that love.
Rev. Bill Sheehan, OMI, is an experienced retreat director and has led many Centering Prayer workshops and retreats, including many 11th step retreats. He has been involved with Contemplative Outreach, founded by Fr. Thomas Keating, OCSO, since 1983, practicing centering prayer and guiding others in this way of prayer for more than 25 years. He is a member of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate order and lives in an Oblate House of Prayer in Lowell, Massachusetts.
